In Year 6 we have been exploring the fabulous Shakespeare play - Macbeth. We created the scene of when Macbeth murders King Duncan. We wrote letters to Lady Macbeth and agony aunt letters to ask for advice when Macbeth didn't know where to turn. We wrote heart wrenching diary entries after the gruesome murder. We had a great afternoon at Seaham School of Technology. We took part in lots of activities with children from other primary schools including: making sweet and sour stir fry, making dragon masks, drama and music activities. To finish off the afternoon our families were invited to stay for a Chinese buffet! So excited to be able to update this post with video!! In Year 6 we celebrated World Book Day by creating our favourite book characters with potatoes! Then we photographed our characters and used an app called 'Cut me in' . This meant we could put our characters anywhere that we wanted. Next, we used book creator to write a story about our characters. Great adventures with Harry Potter and Little Miss Sunshine. Even the Queen makes a guest appearance! Our books were so fabulous we decided that they would be made into films. We used the iMovie app to create film trailers. Coming soon to a blog near you!! We loved making our characters but rumour has it that they might end up as chips! As promised, here is some examples of our fab iMovie trailers starring our potato stars! We used an app to create news reports about the women's snowboard slopestyle final. Here's a few examples of our writing. The day finally arrived for our volcanoes to erupt! We have been finding out all about mountains. We know all the different types but our favourite are volcanoes! We made information presentations on an app called explaineverything and we made our own volcanoes using plastic bottles and mod roc . Watch this space because they are going to erupt on the last day of term! |
